Morgan's first day of Preschool

Since Morgan turned three in November I decided to enroll him in preschool. I researched it and since his birthday was after the cut off date he is actually in the 2's class. I thought about waiting until next fall to enroll him so that he would start in the 3's class....but I figured I would give it a try the 2nd semester of the 2's class to see if he likes it.
Well, to my surprise Morgan was soooo excited to start school! When I would pick him up from day care he would say "Mommy, I am ready for school!". His first day was Thursday, January 13th!

Here he is running towards the door, he is that excited! I am glad I am taking pictures of this now....because I am sure this will be a whole different story when he gets to High School! Morgan's first day went very well. His teacher is Mrs. Abbott. Morgan said they read stories, sang songs, painted, played outside and had fishy crackers and water for snack. I asked him if he is excited to go back next week and he said "Yes!"....so far so good!

Wyatt turns 1!!

Well, it seems like only yesterday we were bringing our preemie son home from the hospital.....and now he is turning 1 year old already!!

Wyatt's birthday is January 10th. We had a small party for him on Saturday, January 8th at my parent's house. We did a jungle theme - I always say Wyatt is brave like a lion because even though he was born so early he fought hard and was so strong, he did so good in the two months he was at the hospital and has overcome any preemie obsticles that were thrown his way.
This is kind of a dark picture, but his cake had Madagascar characters on it to go with the jungle theme.

We had family and friends over to help celebrate his milestone!

Wyatt got lots of fun gifts, he got very spoiled. Mommy helped him open them - just like Christmas he was more facsinated with the paper rather than the toy at first.

He got a mini basketball hoop from Papa John which he really enjoyed! Big brother Morgan shows him how to play.

Must have been one heck of a party if his pants are already off! The party actually was very fun, it was a great way to celebrate his 1 year birthday. We thought we would have more pictures of his messy face from his cake....but he was so tired by the time we did the cake that he really didn't touch it. Oh well, maybe next year!

Christmas 2010 and Happy New Years!

So Colby and I did an absolutley horrible job of taking pictures this Christmas. We got so wrapped up in the kids opening gifts that we really didn't take any pictures. We did take a lot of good video though. But, even without the pictures to show it...we had an amazing holiday this year! We started out by spending Christmas Eve with just us. It was so nice to sit by the fire with my husband and two wonderful boys and enjoy the peace of Christmas. We watched "A Christmas Story" on tv and then put the kids in their pj's, put out milk and cookies and Morgan wrote a letter to Santa - he asked him for race cars, tractors and an elephant!
The next morning we got up and Colby got the camera ready to film Morgan bounding down the stairs so excited to see his presents....but when Morgan got to the stairs he just stood there with the sadest look on his face! We asked him what was wrong and he said "Santa didn't bring my tractors". Because he couldn't physically "see" his tractors, he thought they weren't there. We laughed and told him he needed to unwrap his gifts to find out if Santa brought his tractors or not. He still pouted a bit, but we started with opening stockings and that warmed him up a bit. Then when he did open the present that was his tractors he got a huge smile on his face and said "He DID bring my tractors"!!
That afternoon we went to my parent's house to celebrate, eat and open more gifts. Morgan got a Woody Doll from Grandma and Grandpa Pointer to go with his Buzz Lightyear Doll. He was so excited. Wyatt is still a little young to fully understand Christmas....but he did enjoy playing with all the paper!
We are so thankful for all of our friends and family and so happy we could spend the Holidays with them. We hope 2011 is a great year for everyone and we can't wait to see what the year brings! Happy New Year!

Christmas Party at Aunt Loni and Uncle Joel's House

We had Christmas on Colby's side of the family on December 18th. It was lots of fun. We went over to Aunt Loni and Uncle Joel's house where we had a wonderful dinner and opened gifts. The kids got pajamas, socks, candy and oranges in their stockings! Morgan loves the little "cutie" oranges - so he gets a few of those each year in his stocking.

Morgan got a Buzz Lightyear doll from Papa John and Grandma Cathy. He absolutley loves him!

We had a great time and all the kids enjoyed their gifts.
