October Iowa Trip

In October we took a last minute trip to Iowa to see some of Colby's family and help his Grandpa on the farm. We usually drive the 8 hours there in one day, but this time we decided to leave in the evening and stay at a hotel in Nebraska. This was the boys' first time in a hotel room.

Wyatt is pretty happy here, but about 15 minutes after we got settled in our room he decided he was going to have a crying fit for a few hours! I am very surprised we didn't get a phone call from the manager asking us to leave.

The next day we made a trip to the Omaha Nebraska Zoo. It was a pretty awesome zoo with a lot of animals to see!

Wyatt is trying to show Colby a butterfly in the Butterfly Pavilion.

This is how tall Morgan would be compared to a Gorilla.

Once we were in Iowa the boys, myself and Aunt Debbie visited a pumpkin patch.

I think Wyatt has found the one he wants.

Here they are fighting over who is going to pull the wagon.

Now that one is probably more your size Wyatt.

This pumpkin patch had a corn maze for kids.

And a sandy area with toy dump trucks and tractors.

Of course our Iowa trip would not be complete if the boys didn't get to ride on Great Grandpa's tractors!

Morgan found a furry Caterpillar friend!

Colby had to get some wrestling time in with all the kids.

Colby and his cousin Ryan's birthdays are in October, so we celebrated with some yummy cupcakes.

Wyatt obviously enjoyed his cupcake!

All the kids together! Such cuties!

Then it was time to make the 8 hour trip home....this time in one day. This is how Morgan traveled, quiet and occupied with his movies and activities.

And this is how Wyatt traveled the whole 8 hours!!!!

Thank God we made it home and Thank God for Advil!

Man's Best Friend

Colby took this adorable picture the other day and I wanted to share it. Morgan loves his dog JD very much. JD is a good boy, he can be a bit hyper at times, which is why I am very surprised he stayed still for this picture...but he is a great dog who loves our boys!

Visteen Smith Park

On Sunday October 2nd we decided to venture up to Visteen Smith Park. It is a fun little place about 20 minutes away towards Estes Park and it has beautiful veiws. It has a gorgous river, a fun bridge, a pond, picnic areas, fun things to climb on and a playground. We packed a picnic lunch and then just played around the rest of the day!

Nice October Day and Shopping with Mom

October 1st was a beautiful day in Colorado! It was sunny and the temperatures were in the upper 80's! So the boys and I went to down town Fort Collins for some shopping with my mom.

Down town Fort Collins has a lot of fun features. Here is Morgan posing by a flower bed.

Morgan loved this fountain! He could sit there and stare at it all day. It took a lot of coaxing to get him to move away from it and continue shopping!

Here is Morgan in front of a Painted Horse Statue.

I tried to get both boys in the picture, but then I ended up cutting off the horses head.

First Day of Preschool!

Today was Morgan's first day of Preschool for his 3's class. Just like last year for his 2's class, he was so excited to go. He has the same teacher as last year, so he is excited and feels comfortable. He will go two days a week this year on Tues. and Thurs.

I took today off from work to drop Morgan off at school and then I wanted to have a fun day with him. So after I picked him up I took him to lunch. I asked him where he wanted to go and he wanted to go to Subway! I am glad he is making healthy choices and my waistline is very glad too! At Subway he told me all about his first day, how they read stories, played outside, did projects, played with toys and had snack.

After lunch we thought it would be fun to go see a matinee movie, so we went to Smurfs. It was very cute and a great way to spend the afternoon together.

Of course we had to get a little arcade time in before we went into the theater!

Getting ready for the movie to start. I would say we both had a very very good day!
